Birthdays Galore

This week has been a very busy week.  Lots of folks are having birthdays around me and one couple is getting married.  So congrats to everyone, no matter what the occasion.

My first card is for a friend who is 50 next week.  He is in a band, and obviously loves music .....

I made the trifold card from a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock.  The numbers were cut on the Cricut, using the shadow facility.  The papers and tags are all from Bo Bunny Et Cetera Range.  I love this range.  The stickers are also from it.  I have included three song lines/titles on the card .......... hope he likes it.  As always I used good old Timmy to distress the edges.

This is an order for a friend her Mil is gonna be 65.  This card is from the girls to their Nanny.  The brief was sunset/autumnal colours.  Again the card is a 12 x 12 piece from stock, the papers are a mixture of First Edition ......... Leaves, DCWV Marriposa, shimmer card and green card from stock.
The tag was hand cut, the peel offs are from Anitas, including the ones used to make the dimensional butterflies.  The Bows are all papermania and the heart button is from stash.

This card is for my daughter's friend Pia.  Her Mum is getting married and she asked me to make a special card.  I am totally in love with all things Steampunk at the moment and Pia also likes this style.  I have used a Kanban topper, and First Edition papers.  The papers and have been cut and punched using a Woodware punching system, then layered to create the effect.  Inside I have printed a verse and then matted and layered the hearts punched out to give the border down the page.

This gorgeous card and matching handmade envelope are for the same lady who is gonna be 65.  This is from her Son and Dil.  The letters were cute from Papermania cardstock and matted and layered using the shadow effect on the cricut.  They were then put together and the back of the card made at 13" plus hinge.  The letters were then applied to the front of the hinge and then acetate was added to strengthen the front.  The Decoupage is from Papermania Lucy Cromwell collection, as are the die cuts inside the card.  The papers are from Boofle.

Hope you like these.

A beginning and an end ......

Hi everyone.  My mojo must be returning these days, as I have found some inspiration from somewhere.

Firstly my friend became a Grandma .... Her daughter gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl ......
And then another friend has buried her Dad.  Two very different aspects of life, but a certainty for us all.

I made two baby cards.  One for the proud parents, and one for the proud Grandparents. Very similar so that Mother and Daughter could not argue about who had the nicest card.  Anyway congrats to both sets of proud parents.

The papers for these are by First Edition.  The gorgeous shapes have been cut using Nesties and the "Baby" sentiment was cut on the Cricut.  The die cuts are of course Forever Friends.  I have finished off with ribbon, lace and card candi from stash.

Sadly a friend had to bury her Dad recently and this was the simple card I made.  The agapanthus was stamped using Versamark and then heat embossed.  Simply then matted onto black and white card from stock, before adding a black ribbon bow at the bottom.

Crafty hugs for now.

There are big ships ................

Hey to all my fellow bloggers out there.  I hope that you are having a great halloween week.  My family and I are looking forward to dressing up on Wednesday and going trick or treating.  The kids are really excited and I should imagine the dentist will be some time soon after .....................

Life has been really hectic and the kids have been really busy which has meant that crafting has sort of taken a back seat recently.

I have however made some cards for friends and family and heres one of the recent ones.  It was used for a friendship swap over on DC.  The card is also for the latest challenge on my other blog ........  The Cutie Pie Challenge.  This fortnight we have a distressing challenge ............. no, not to make each other cry, lol, but to distress our artwork.  So here's my interpretation.

I have of course used the fantastic Tim Holtz distress inks to distress the background of the card, and the flowers and tickets.  I have used embossing powders in white and gold to emboss the images which are from craft creations.  The ship and sentiment are on white card, with white embossing powder, stamped with versa mark, and the gold onto craft card and then heat embossed.  The edges of the card were distressed.  The sentiment from the same set reads

"There are big ships and small ships, but the best ship of all is friendship"

How true that is, so to all my friends both personal and in blogland, thank you for the wonderful gift of friendship.

Craftyhugs to everyone

Bugaboo, butterflies and a birthday celebration

Hi guys, wow, what a week its been.    I don't really know where this one has gone.

As many of you know over on my other blog  - The Cutie Pie challenge - its our first birthday.  I have donated a prize, and there are three others to be won as well.  The challenge is use a digi.
We are being sponsored by Bugaboo and here's my card.

I made this card for my friend Tina for her birthday.  She loves butterflies.   The papers are by First Edition, the image is from Bugaboo and the butterflies were made by using peel offs on the co-ordinating papers and then cutting out with a craft knife.  She really liked it.  I hope you do too.

Two Dogs, One Little girl and a lot of prizes

Firstly Sorry.  I have not been around much lately.  Life just seems to have got in the way.  I have still found time to craft, although not as much as I would like.

I have had a couple of birthdays for friends recently and one lady in particular loves dogs.  So I made these two cards for her.  Both images are from Mo Manning.  I adore them and think they are just the sweetest.  I have used this card as my DT card for the Cutie Pies challenge this fornight.  (More about that later).

The papers are from Kanban and edged with Tim Holtz Distress inks and the punch is a martha stewart one.  The gorgeous butterfly was cut from the papers with a Nestie and then layered to create the 3d effect.  The ribbon is from the States (courtesy of my friend Teresa) and the sentiment is from Tulip.  I coloured the gorgeous image with promarkers.

This gorgeous chap is also from Mo Manning and he is just too cute be too much trouble.  I coloured him using promarkers and then distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks.  He was cut out using Nesties and layered.  I have used a combination of Kanban and Papermania papers, combined with coredinations paper which was embossed using a Tim Holtz Embossing folder and then sanded.  The sentiment is Penny Black and the ribbon and flowers are from my craft box.

Hope you like them both.

My other blog - for which I am DT Lead is the Cutie Pie challenge and this fortnight I am sponsoring them with some Candy.

Feeling Romantic ............

Over on the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog this fortnight we are being sponsored by the fantastic Pink Gems.  The challenge this time is borders and frames.   I chose the gorgeous Pointsettia Heart for my image.  It is just so pretty, why wait and only use it at Christmas.

I coloured it in using my promarkers and dovecraft chalks, cut complimenting hearts using my Spellbinder Nesties and layered these up.  The border was created using a Martha Stewart Punch.  The papers are from my stash.  I love the very subtle colours and shades and felt this was quite a romantic card ..............

Crafty hugs for now ..

Summer Days ..............

no no, not the title song from that great movie Grease, but the theme of the new challenge over on Anything Goes.

What does that conjour up for you, for me it holds childhood memories of the beach, long hot sunny days, bike riding, picnics and fun all summer long.  How sad, that it's not the same these days, so I decided to turn a negative into a positive thing when making my card.

The image was given to me by a friend, and was wonderful to work with.  I have coloured here with Promarkers and Dovecraft Chalks.  The papers were some freebies last year, and have been sat in my stash.  The gorgeous stickers were from Accessorize (last year).  I made the sentiment with a Lili of the Valley stamp and some ribbon from my ribbon box.   The border was punched with a Deep Martha Stewart Punch and the flowers are from Papermania.

Hope this has made you smile, there's nothing quiet like making sandcastles in the rain on the beach!!

Hugs to all

Spots and Stripes ........

and not a gold medal in sight ..............

Hello to all of you out there in blogland.  Are you watching the Olympics?  If so, I hope you are enjoying them.

Well, firstly sorry I have not posted for a while, I have been to Centre Parcs with my family.  We had a great time, and ate far too much in their amazing restaurants ..........  oh well, back to the diet again.

I have been crafting and have had the pleasure of working with some amazing images this week, courtesy of Bugaboo.  They are sposoring the Cutie Pie Challenge this week, and we had the opportunity to pick our favourite image to work with.  Given the challenge theme this week, I just couldn't resist ladybirds .............. I love to see them flitting about in the summer sun ........ so as you can imagine that's quite a rarity these days.

As always we have some amazing sponsors over on the Cutie Pie Challenge this week.  So go on hop on over and have a look at what the rest of the fabbie DT team have come up with for your inspiration and see what you can do with spots and stripes ...............

The moment I saw these cute ladybirds, I knew I wanted them to really pop off the card,  they have been coloured with Promarkers and then finished off with Glossy Accents.  I deliberately kept the rest of the colour scheme to black and white.  I dug out my Papermania liquorice capsule collection papers, some spotty buttons from stash, as well as ribbons and bows.  Finally I added card candi.

I love the colour scheme on this one, I hope you do to and that I have inspired you.

Hugs for now.

Take one small pringles can and ............

collect your tokens, send off for the speaker and then give it to your friend's Mum to alter.

For those of you who love altered art, here is my attempt at the Pringles Speaker Can.  Jack asked for his name to be put on the Can and for Union Flags and bunting.

Here's the finished result...

He was really pleased with it.  And I have to say it looked great with the speaker in it.
